Photo Friday – May Flowers

It’s probably a tad obvious to go from a photo friday about April showers into one about May flowers. But that’s what this week has been full of. D & B have been making visits to the nursery and coming back with containers of flowers to add to the beds. The veteran plants have been doing their part to prove we don’t need anymore petals. The smell of lilacs is beginning to perfume the air and everyday a new flower emerges from one location or another. All in all I love the month of May. The weather starts warming up, the world starts to become colorful again, and it also houses my birthday. 🙂 And this year we’re putting our book on sale. So one new thing to add to the fun of May. But mostly this week is all about flowers. Beautiful little faces, delicate lacy petals, and the fruit that some of them turn into. 🙂 Hooray for May.

Photo Friday – Hints of Spring

This is the week. The week when it became obvious that winter is saying goodbye and spring is saying hello. And while there is a time for every season, I’m definitely happy to smell green in the air. Little white flowers, tips of green grasses, tentative leaves peeking out. There is something so delicate and brave about spring. The cool air still lends itself to hot tea and good conversations. Oh yes, and did I also mention there is chocolate? Lots and lots of egg shaped chocolate. And all of these are good things. 🙂

Photo Friday – Down with the Sick

Yes, despite all my attempts to avoid it, the sick found me. So these last two weeks have found me lying on the bed, lying on the couch, lying on the floor. Basically lying down whenever and wherever I can. I’ve gone through four boxes of kleenex (sadly, not a personal record), dozens of cough drops, a doctors visit, a prescription, two boxes of throat coat tea, and a rather large queue of bad afternoon television. But fortunately I’m on the mend and all I can think about is eating cake. And writing. I’ve missed working on book 2 and I am now full of crazy, fever induced ideas that still seem awesome, even in the light of health. So upwards and onwards. And pass the cough drops.

Photo Friday – Tea and Rain

The week was filled with rain showers and sunny breaks. A perfect spring week. And it’s only February. So with the beautifully cozy weather I decided to take a days break from writing book 2 and work on a currently unnamed manuscript. A little idea I’ve been toying with for a while. 😉 And what better place to play with ideas than a cozy coffee shop on a rainy day. And to top it all off I got to come home to a package full of good smelling things from Lush (and Adam). I’m sniffing my wrist as we speak. 🙂

Photo Friday – Indoors

This week began with lots of melting, leaving behind only odd patches of snow here and there. And of course that means sun. 🙂 However, I’ve been enjoying that sun through my windows because I’ve been indoors writing. Having finished quite a bit of the research for book 2, I got to sit down and start on my favorite part, the first draft. So exciting. Other than writing the week was filled with cooking (I even found an onion with a heart), cuddly dogs, a more intimate study of our room, and of course with valentines day stopping by there may have been some chocolate involved. 🙂
