Townshend’s Tea Company’s β„– 54 Alberta Street Chai

Yes, I can happily claim that the reason I haven’t posted in quite a while is because I’ve been hard at work on Manly Hero 2. And while I sit at my computer editing and writing, mother nature is working on an edit of her own. The green leaves she started with are being rewritten as yellow, orange, and red. The air has changed from warm and heavy to crisp and sharp. And thus, out go the iced teas and back in with the hot teas. Preferrably with some kind of milk. Enter Townshend’s Tea Company’s β„–Β 54 Alberta Street Chai.

Obsession Sessions: Cup (of tea) cakes

I am a firm believer in the afternoon tea and treat. And lately — the last few Wednesdays — that treat has been cupcakes. A fantastic little cupcake shop opened up in our town a few months ago and it may be the wonderful end of me. Fabulous, tiny, paper-cup wrapped bites of happiness.Β Really, somethings just can’t be described. So instead of using words, which we authors are always trying to do, I’m going to be quiet and just let the pictures do the talking.

Photo Friday – Ducks

Last weekend we had the good fortune of being able to hang out at a lake. Quality water time (on my part) and reading time (on Adam’s part) were spent. And to top it all off, just before we left we got to watch a very fun paddling of ducks swim by. Complete with a smaller paddling of not-quite-baby, not-quite-teenage ducks. Darling. And the brown and white duck just kept grabbing my attention. So I snapped away.

Photo Friday – Berries (and other good things)

Berries are here! Let’s celebrate. I’m thinking berries with cream, whip cream, on shortcake, in salads, in kuchen, in drinks, in. . . EVERYTHING! πŸ™‚ I love that our garden is starting to show the berries of our labor. πŸ˜‰ To be honest, berries are not hard to grow. The labor comes with the picking. Or the eating instead of picking. And now that the weekend is here I’m going to fill little buckets with sweet/tart deliciousness, take time to smell the flowers, and look at the (not sure if they’re poisonous) mushrooms. Which means I’m assuming they are poisonous. So I will just enjoy them through pictures. Hope you have a great weekend. πŸ™‚

Photo Friday – Farm Fresh

Seeing Ben’s beautiful photos inspired me to get back on the wagon with photo fridays. And what better way than to capture the first delivery of summer produce from our local farmers’ co-op. With our cool, rainy season so far, most of the bag was filled with greens, but the items that caught my attention were the beautiful pops of red, pink, and purple mixed in. So this is really an ode to redish edibles. Redibles. πŸ™‚
