Manly Hero in Paperback! (and other news)

Do Manly proud and enjoy a good cup of tea while reading. :)

Do Manly proud and enjoy a good cup of tea while reading. πŸ™‚

It’s finally here! The real, page edges can cut you, paper edition of our book! πŸ™‚ And I’m pretty excited about it. Of course, last year I was also very excited about the ebook version of it being finished, but there is something about having a physical copy of it. Manly Hero, my book, sitting on my shelf, reminding me daily of both what I have accomplished and why I need to keep working on book two. That magic makes the paperback copy special. So, if you too are a lover of paperback books, check it out here.

In other news, you may notice in the next few days that the name of our blog is changing. This is just us trying to clean up all our social media and make it easier to use and keep track of. We’ve decided to use our pen name for our social media. So, Adrastus Rood will be the name of this blog, ourΒ twitter account, and our facebook page. (We’ve still got the Manly Hero facebook page up and running as well.) We’re also hoping that this is the year we fancy up our websites. But, with as busy as we’ve been, I’m not holding my breath. πŸ˜‰

Lastly, we’ve got a new writing project that we are going to announce in the new year. Very excited about it. More info to come soon.

A Real Book

I have been waiting for this since I was a teenager. That’s almost two decades. And while I’ve only been working on this particular project for two-ish years, I can’t believe I am actually holding a real live book in my hands. One that I was part of writing! Β Manly Hero book one. I can’t quite explain my excitement. And here it sits on our shelf. πŸ™‚

I know it has been available on kindle,Β Smashwords, and iBooks for a while now, but the actual physical book is definitely a thrill for me. And while it is only the proof copy and I have a few weeks of editing ahead of me, I am so excited! And I can’t wait for it to be available to everyone else. (Which of course I will post about.) πŸ™‚

Writing is an Adventure

Writing. I guess that’s what I do. πŸ˜‰ And I love it. (Along with the abject moments of hating it.) The process of writing is always an adventure. I really never know what will happen next. Whether the surprise is in my story or in my personal self-discovery. And, being right in the thick of writing book two of theΒ Manly HeroΒ series, the art and concept of writing is ever present in my mind.

How can I get my story across even more cleanly? How can I paint even vivider pictures in my readers’ minds? How can Adam and I improve our collaboration process? Basically, what can I do to become better? And what does one do with all the ups and downs of being a writer?

So for the next little while, along with our regular posts, I’m going to run a series of posts on writing. The questions I’m working through, the insecurities I’m braving or succumbing to, the small triumphs I am enjoying, and the little advice I may have from what I’ve learned so far. I’d love for you to join me and share your process and thoughts as well.

Cheers. πŸ™‚
