Townshend’s Tea Company’s № 54 Alberta Street Chai

Yes, I can happily claim that the reason I haven’t posted in quite a while is because I’ve been hard at work on Manly Hero 2. And while I sit at my computer editing and writing, mother nature is working on an edit of her own. The green leaves she started with are being rewritten as yellow, orange, and red. The air has changed from warm and heavy to crisp and sharp. And thus, out go the iced teas and back in with the hot teas. Preferrably with some kind of milk. Enter Townshend’s Tea Company’s № 54 Alberta Street Chai.

“TEA” – Bissinger’s Apricot Green Tea Gummy Pandas

It’s tooooo hot for tea. So I’ve been brewing tea after dark, despite how turning the stove on heats up our airconditionless house, and letting it chill in the fridge over night. But, I also found a way to sneak more tea into my hot summer days. These gummy pandas are courtesy of my sister, a late birthday gift. And yes, late birthday gifts are just as good as on time birthday gifts. So keep ’em coming. 😉 Anyways, back to the gummy pandas.

Tea – Herbescent’s Organic Spiced Mango Green Tea

Okay, I’ve been feeling a bit perma-sleepy lately, so green tea was quickly added to my list of must have writing supplies.  And this lovely bag of tea was added to my collection when I took myself out shopping for my birthday a few days ago. Just look at those gorgeous tea leaves. I love loose leaf tea. In fact I can’t believe it took me this long to post a review about a loose leaf tea.

Abstractfully Yours

Number 1 1950 (Lavender Mist)

Number 1 – 1950 (Lavender Mist) by Jackson Pollock

I’ve known I wanted to tell stories since I was six. I didn’t realize that meant writing, but I knew stories were the thing that made up my core. I would send my Barbie dolls through epic Amazonian adventures, I would stay up hours after being sent to bed telling myself stories, I would go on crazy adventures in my backyard with my invisible companions (companions, not friends, because the cast was constantly changing). And when I started to take language arts and literature classes, writing beckoned me temptingly as I hurried through my grammar and spelling lessons. You too can probably attest to the fact Continue reading

Obsession Sessions: Cup (of tea) cakes

I am a firm believer in the afternoon tea and treat. And lately — the last few Wednesdays — that treat has been cupcakes. A fantastic little cupcake shop opened up in our town a few months ago and it may be the wonderful end of me. Fabulous, tiny, paper-cup wrapped bites of happiness. Really, somethings just can’t be described. So instead of using words, which we authors are always trying to do, I’m going to be quiet and just let the pictures do the talking.
