JindaLee Lehmann – Featured Canadian Artist

You may notice I’ve expanded our Featured Artist category to include Canadian artists. And our first Canadian artist is JindaLee. She’s got a great vibe and a passion for music that is awesome. I may or may not have gone to a punk rock concert with her and a group of friends in the middle of nowhere once. But that’s a different story. JindaLee is currently running an indiegogo campaign, Rise and Drift Tour. So if you like what you read (and hear, check out the music videos at the end of this interview) pop on over and throw some support her way. 🙂 And if you walk away from this post craving more amazing northern artists, don’t blame me, blame Canada. 😉

Allison Hyde – Featured Northwest Artist

Allison Hyde’s work makes me feel like I am in a place. I like that. I feel like something happened when I look at her art. Like something may happen again. There is story there. And you all know how much I love story. So take a minute to glance through the pictures and then take a few more minutes to read through the interview. I’m sure they both will spawn many a creative thought. 🙂

Petra: Describe your approach to your art.   Allison: I try to create art that will touch people’s lives. I work with Continue reading

Karli Ingersoll – Featured Northwest Artist

Karli Ingersoll lists “getting things done” as one of her strengths in the following questionnaire, and I can back that up 100%. As artists we can tend to procrastinate (yes, I am talking about myself). But when I sent Karli the questionnaire for this month’s feature I am pretty sure she had it back to me in about four hours. That is the fastest (by far) return to date. So if you are looking for an on-time completion of a project I can highly recommend Karli. And, not only is she on top of the time line, she has some pretty cool art. Read on to see more.

Petra: Describe your approach to your art.   Karli: I approach art a couple of different ways. My greatest hope is to Continue reading

Ben Blood – Featured Northwest Artist

Ben Blood’s photography has a way of making me want to step into one of his pictures and experience the moment, but also wanting to keep my distance so as not to intrude on the beautiful scene. Something I think of as the perfect visual experience. Go ahead, read the article and peruse these next few pictures and then, when you can’t get enough, stop on by his site, BenBlood.com to see more of these charming moments. (P.S. Click on the images to make them bigger. Totally worth it.) 🙂

Britta Ambauen (Jewelry to Inspire) – Featured Northwest Artist

We met Britta Ambauen at a fair in our town selling her beautiful jewelry. I loved her stuff instantly and knew she should be featured on our blog. There is currently a small box tucked away in our room with a necklace we bought from her, just waiting to be opened on my birthday. (Yes, I know what I’m getting and I am still excited. Maybe even more so. I really want to wear it.) 🙂 She is friendly and beautiful and after reading her answers I think I would like to hang out with her sometime. And you probably will too. 🙂

PQ: Describe your approach to your art.   Britta: I feel the most successful works of art come from Continue reading
